One inch block plaques are thick enough and small enough to stand on edge (no separate base)

Since these are gifts, I take license with font and high contrast colors.

Low contrast color choices are sometimes deemed more subtle and refined.

But if they are not readable what's the point?

The thickness just under this would be unstable on edge.

The thickness just over these 1" would be 2x my cost,

The 2 piece ones are sort of old visually school, in my opinion.

Simple blocks are a cleaner look.
